Morne on target to clinch it for Oldland
Avon Youth League Under-13s: Oldland Abbotonians ran out 3-1 winners at Cadbury Heath A in Division II thanks to two goals from Trevon Morne.
Tom Gale looked lively from the start and made his presence felt with a number of physical challenges.
Will Harrison had an early shot saved before Oldland took the lead when Mitchell Tomlin took a quick corner to Luke Dix, who crossed for Harry Crew to convert from six yards.
Heath levelled against the run of play, but Oldland restored their lead when Crew set up Morne, and Morne sealed his team's victory with a close-range finish.
Avon Athletic B claimed two narrow victories over Whitchurch Sports in a Division II double-header.
Avon took the lead late in the first half of game one when, following a spell of pressure, a good move down the right wing ended with the ball being cut back to Rory Langdon, who fired home with his left foot from inside the box.
The second half got off to a perfect start for Avon when the visitors failed to clear a corner. The ball came out to Marley Bennett on the edge of the area and he chipped it over the keeper and in off the far post.
The remainder of the first match was closely fought. Whitchurch pressed forward at every opportunity and were rewarded with a late goal, but Avon won 2-1.
The second game was equally competitive and Avon were indebted to sweeper Gabriel Jackson, who made a number of timely interceptions as Whitchurch threatened to go in front.
Avon made the breakthrough late in the first half when Ciaran Furzland stepped up to take a direct free-kick from a tight angle, 20 yards from goal. He picked his spot with precision, floating the ball into the far top corner of the net.
Although they had more possession, Avon needed some brave keeping from Alfie Lewis late on to ensure they took all three points. Avon's men of the match Awere lfie Lewis and Shalom Fynn Garbrah.
Shire Colts B proved too strong for Bishport United, winning their top-of- the-table Division V clash 3-0.
Bishport started the game strongly and were unlucky not to take the lead when a shot struck the crossbar.
Shire reacted well and the tide soon turned with a goal from George West after five minutes.
Shire's centre midfield performed well, continually feeding the ball out wide to cash in on the pace of West and James Bojski.
Colts continued to dominate, building a 2-0 half-time lead thanks to a second goal from West.
The second half continued much in the same vein, with Shire pulling further away when a quick throw by Sam Khavandi was picked up by Jotham Bowyer, who fired home.
Billy Richardson and Joe Pierce worked tirelessly in defence to keep a clean sheet for Shire, while Mike Battersby pulled off an excellent save to thwart Bishport's hopes of a consolation goal.
