Monarch is better than a president
WHAT is it with these republicans? ("Access is power for our monarch", The Post Dec 27). The Queen goes to the Bank of England, listens to a load of waffle and then makes a few remarks on the banking crisis. And that's wrong?
You should get out more Mr Barker. Me and millions of Britons have been doing the same for the last couple of years as well. And we are wrong?
And as for attending cabinet meetings, an hour with 30-odd politicians – the good lady deserves a medal not some juvenile criticism.
Mr Barker, you know it, I know it and the majority of the British people know it. We prefer a monarch to a president.

I'm afraid you are a loser and if the bunch of oddballs in King Street was the best of your republican band I can well understand why.
If you are truly concerned about British democracy then I suggest that you take up it not against the House of Windsor but the German Empire, sometimes known as the European Union, an organisation that has done more harm to our country than any of the royals. Undemocratic and unelected. So once more into the etc. Or you could join UKIP.
