Mike Ford was wrong . . . Blunts is in business
We are extremely concerned that in the Mike Ford piece in Bedminster in your October 14 edition, page 10, Blunts was quoted as having "closed down".
Someone should have taken the trouble to check!

Blunts has traded continuously in Bedminster for many years and has worked hard over later years to combat the damage to trade in East Street caused by pedestrianisation and lack of through traffic.
We have maintained our stocks and still offer a wide selection of quality footwear at competitive prices. Our recently installed shop front signage onto East Street surely passes the message to everyone that we are here to stay!

“Can't see what all the fuss is about. Employ third rate journalists you get third rate articles. Seems everyone wants to be a journalist but this is yet another prime example of not being able to communicate to the readers due to an obvious lack of journalistic ability.”

“Surely it's only a matter of time before this place closes down anyway. I can't say I've ever seen a a manger in there on a Saturday, most of the staff completely ignore customers and spend all day chatting amongst themselves. Which is a great shame as it's a nice shop with good quality shoes, mostly made in England.”

“If Mr. Blunt had bothered to properly read my article, then he would have seen that I was actually on his side, and stating that I was well aware that Blunts is still trading.
I was aping the views of certain elements of South Bristol's self-appointed elite which told me not only that Blunts was closed down, but also called me a liar when I proved them wrong.
I expect a full written apology from Mr. Blunt as soon as possible or I shall be shoeing (sorry, suing) him.”
