Match organiser Tony Rixon finished a comfortable 30lb clear of his nearest challenger in the Avon Angling Midweek Open fished at Avalon Fishery, West Hay.

He fished an 8mm hair-rigged pellet beneath both a long pole and a pellet waggler to tempt 26 carp totalling 130-1-0 from peg 40.

Second-placed Alan Oram missed the 100lb mark by just 2oz. He poled paste hard on the bottom at 16 metres into the corner margins of peg 23 for carp to almost 8lb.

Mike West filled the minor berth at peg 37 where paste poled at eight metres centre tempted 96-12-0.
