Mendip Farmers' Hunt has revived a team chase at Ston Easton that was last run back in the 1970s when the sport was in its infancy.

Team chasing was invented by the owner of the famous Hickstead showground, Douglas Bunn, in 1974 and quickly grew.

Now, 38 years later, the event that was once held at the Clothier family's Home Farm, Ston Easton, just off the A37 south of Bristol, is being revived on Sunday, October 4, and one of the original sponsors is back too.

This black and white photograph shows a fence sponsored by Penny Plant Hire & Demolition. Roger Penny is back on board for 2009 and will be sponsoring the new water feature, now dubbed Penny's Pond.

Three classes will run over the same 1.5-mile course of 23 dry stone walls, hedges and timber fences, with no obstacle over 3ft 3ins high.

Closing date for entries is Monday, September 28, and spectators are welcome. For an entry form, call 07787 571745.
