McIndoe exit could pave way for Bristol City to sign Martin
Michael McIndoe could be set to leave Bristol City to make way for Manchester United winger Lee Martin.
City's Scottish wideman is being linked with a £750,000 switch to Championship rivals Sheffield United.

Martin has had loan spells with Rangers, Stoke, Plymouth, Nottingham Forest and also the Blades.
His one appearance for the Red Devils came in their final league game of last season, when they won 1-0 at Hull City.
Twenty-nine-year-old McIndoe was less impressive for City last term than in his maiden campaign with the Robins.

“Sheffield United have signed left winger Kyel Reid from West Ham.
That puts this story into perspective I think.
Further to that, Lee Martin is right footed but PREFERS to play on the left - he aint a left winger.
There's room for both Martin and McIndoe in that respect. Good quality competition as well.
It appears to be between City and Ipswich for Martin...”

“some of the negative comments being pushed at Mcindoe are definitly unfair , mc always gives a 100% whether thats in the centre of the midfield or out on the wing, i think the problem on the left is no different to the problem on the right , Sproule as played a much smaller part in the side and no one seems to have a problem with that fact. Considering GJ often opts to play a central mid player out on the right why does M Mc get so much negatives when there our other players happy to sit on the bench and play bit parts for us.”

“I wish the fans would stop posting bad things about Michael McIndoe on here otherwise Sheffield Utd. might find out and pull out of the deal, which will then mean we will be stuck with him, Seriously I think he is a bad influence on the team, If he makes a mistake it's always someone elses fault, he runs the full length of the pitch with the ball full of pace gets to his destination and then either fluffs the cross or passes to the opposition, so please stopp running him down and with all the luck in the world Sheffield Utd will come in and buy him.”

“First of all, this is a non-story.
McIndoe is going nowhere, this was a story made up on the BBC 606 site and it's gone from there - much like most news articles regarding players at this time of year.
Secondly, the article says McIndoe was less impressive - wrong. His goals and assists were the same as last season. What changed was him being asked to "tuck into midfield" to make the team less open.
He is a very consistent player at this level and one which we should be looking to keep.”

“Nathan, Noble has gone, he didnt want to play for his club and wasnt fit enough to cope with demands of the CCC as he preferred drinks on the town instead, i wish people like you would realise that instead of having a go at a player who puts in the effort for the shirt week in week out. Beckford wouldnt be "punt" as alot of clubs want him you are looking at alot of money, possibly over £3 million. Plus we need a proven player at this level, we have had enough "punts" in recent years!”

“GJ should take a punt on J.Beckford , less of a gamble than some strikers already signed by GJ in past seasons i.e Styvar , JB will score 20+ in championship for sure ,where ever he goes.”

“With the new season starting and no real proven goal scorer why dont we sign Kevin Phillips who can still score at his age for a season to show mannard the way to go”

“re daz w-s-m ,ok mate im not anti l.johnson i believe he is a good player but i would like to see someone attack the opposition from the centre of our midfield, some one who gives the team a diffrent option , we have elliot johnson and scuse, but we need someone with a bit more flair creativity like i said its options that win games in the championship.”

“If we had a decent attacking center midfield player i.e David Noble, there would be no reason for Mcindoe to continously cut inside to cover Johnson who is obviously out of his depth and in the team for one reason- wonder what that could be?”

“Macca is asked to come and play inside; he would not do it because he feels like it week in and week out. This has resulted in him being less effective. Gary Johnson has done it partly through necessity.”
