    “@Bristol62

That's a decent question. the Council is happy to accept that them as payment for Business rates, so why not Council tax? I guess the problem is what the Council does with them. perhaps give them to staff, or better still pay there suppliers with them. In the long run i'd imagine that any services the Council tender out might have to accept part payment in Bristol Pounds, inevitabley favouring Local firms who have the ability to spend them. Given how large the Council is e.g. staff it employs and budget it welds, they are an important part of making the bristol pound a success. It will be interesting if any other private companies decide to pay staff in Bristol Pounds.”

“Will BCC allow Bristolians to pay their council tax in Bristol pounds?

And to what GF means, he'll ask for his wages to be paid into the Bristol Credit Union by BACS (if they can use it - oh that wicked monetary transfer system). BCC probably wont be allowed to pay him in vouchers (sorry Bristol pounds), there is probably a law against it.”

“Oh dear Joke_Bristol, its a pity I 'sound jealous', I really am not.

George has not done better than me, and I am intelligent and hard working. I'm not quite sure what you imagine happening to me alot ... but I have no complaints in that department.

Do you think that being able to pay your council tax in Bristol pounds would be a boost to the scheme?
Do you think it would be more of a boost to the scheme than if George were to take is salary in Bristol pounds?
Do you think that George's offer makes him sound richer than most other Bristolians and therefore rather politically distant?
    Do you like dog biscuits?

If you have anything to say on these matters, it would make for a better response than suggesting I'm a frustrated, lazy, jealous, dullard”

You sound really jealous that a man has done better in life than you through working hard and being intelligent. I imagine that happens to you a lot.”

“George taking all his salary as Bristol pounds, what a hero! It just makes it real obvious he doesn't need any 'normal' cash for well, paying the mortgage or the electric bill or taxing his car.

If he sorted it so we could all pay our council tax in Bristol pounds, that would be a genuine boost for the scheme. As things stand, we might as well pay the man in dog biscuits. WOOF!”
