Mayo grabs win number two in Cadbury series
SOUTH West Maver representative, Steve Mayo clinched his second win in the Cadbury Angling four-match series of open matches being fished at Plantation Lakes, Kingston Seymour.
Mayo long-poled maggot over groundbait at Match seven and romped home an easy winner with 22-15-0 of quality skimmers.
Barry Fitchew fished the same method with caster at Match four and scraped into second place by an ounce from Glenn Calvert, who fished identically at peg 38 for 14-6-0 of skimmers and perch.

Plantation Lakes' Main Lake was in good form and only ounces separated the top three places in the South West Disabled & Over-50 AC weekend match.
The top man was John Thompson who poled red maggot to the point of the island at 11.5 metres off peg 14 to tempt 25-14-0 of carp to almost 4lb.
Match Secretary Nick Tomkins headed the silverfish category at peg 18, where he used a red maggot hookbait to coax 9-8-0 of skimmers from its lakeside margins.

Local rod John Clarke romped home a 30-10-0 winner in the Windmill Fishery Open match, fished on a Match Lake that has recently been stocked with an additional 600 skimmers.
Clarke brought 26-1-0 of carp, weighing between 1-7lb, to the scales, plus a 4-9-0 catch of silvers. That was enough to finish ahead of runner-up Bill Ferris, who tempted seven carp weighing 16-0-0 gross.

League leader Dave Wride won the Bathampton AA and Veals-sponsored Silverfish Championships, fished on Hunstrete Fishery's Bridge Pool.
Wride, who won last year's title, kept ahead of the chasing pack with a 12-3-0 catch of skimmers and roach taken from peg 26 on the far bank with pole and pinkie.
Veals' voucher prize for the biggest fish of the match went to Terry Bruton for the capture of a superb 3-12-0 tench.
