Market welcomes herb guru
SHOPPERS crowded into Thornbury for the chance to meet award-winning herb grower Jekka McVicar, who was attending the town's Christmas food and gift market.
About 70 stalls were set up in Castle Street for the market, which was buzzing with families checking out a range of local produce. Their taste buds were tempted by crepes, cakes and cheese, a range of liqueurs and festive specialities, as well as meat and bread.

Members of Thornbury Castle Band entertained shoppers and craft workers sold hand-made gifts.
Jekka, whose nursery is in nearby Alveston, was in Thornbury Bookshop to sign copies of her books.
The holder of more than 60 Royal Horticultural Society gold medals has written a number of books on growing and cooking with herbs.
