Mark Sampson believes Leeds Carnegie's visit on Sunday will pose a major test for his Bristol Academy side, who are still waiting to bank their first point of the season in the FA Premier League.

And the manager is hoping that five of his squad will return unscathed after international call-ups with Wales this week.

Emma Jones, Katie Daley, Michelle Green and Loren Dykes were all part of the squad that faced the Czech Republic in last night's World Cup qualifier, while Sharla Passariello is expected to feature in the Under-19 Euro qualifier in Denmark today.

"We will have to wait and see how the Wales girls are when they get back, but hopefully they will all stay clear of injury," said Sampson.

Leeds have played only one National Division game so far this season, beating Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Belles 2-0 last weekend.

"They had quite a few players involved with England at the recent European Championships in Finland and are starting to push towards becoming one of the top four sides in the country," said Sampson.

The Academy have been promoting this weekend's game at local schools and hope for a decent crowd to cheer them on at Oaklands Park (2pm).

A late goal from Ashley Reinecke gave Keynsham Town their second win of the season in the Southern Division at Charlton Athletic.

The Londoners took a 19th-minute lead but Hajrija Savic fired in the equaliser and Reinecke struck with seven minutes left.

Keynsham return to the Crown Field on Sunday when they take on QPR.

Bristol Ladies Union are already having to play catch-up in the Premier Division of the SW Women's League after being hit by fines and points deductions.

The club's squad is made up of Bristol University students – the majority of whom are only now back in the city, so they were unable to raise a team for some of their opening fixtures.

But they chalked up their first win of the campaign with a 4-1 victory over Oldland Abbotonians.

Newly-promoted Oldland have lost all five of their opening fixtures, but are nine points ahead of their opponents because of the points deductions.

"We hope we can soon wipe out the deficit and catch up," said Union skipper Thandi McNair.

Oldland assistant boss Steve Lavis said: "We took the lead but were 3-1 down at the break. We played well in the second half but the damage had been done."

In Eastern Division One, Downend Flyers' stop-start opening to the campaign continued with a 2-1 home defeat by Cirencester, Debbie Stacey scoring for the Bristol club.

Bristol & West suffered their first defeat of the season in Division One of the Gloucestershire County Women's League when they conceded twice in the last five minutes to go down 5-3 at Swindon Supermarine.

Bitton came out on top in their derby clash with AEK Boco in Division Two, Becky Jones giving them a first-half lead and Sharifa James making sure of the points.

Boco Reserves fared better in Division Three as Poppy Coles, Chloe Riley, Kyra Kristnajee and Louise Jacomb netted in a 4-2 victory over Quedgeley Wanderers.
