Gloucestershire County Youth League: Gloucestershire Youth League pacesetters Yate Town returned to winning ways following their suprise 4-0 home defeat by fellow front-runners Cadbury Heath with a 4-1 victory at Bristol Manor Farm.

Troy Budd netted twice, while Callum Warren and Alex Lambert completed the scoring.

But Heath again closed the gap at the top by beating Manor Farm 3-2 at the weekend thanks to goals from Josh Cann (2) and Ashley Knight.

Gala Wilton moved up into third place, goals from Ben Hoad and Josh Holford sealing a 2-0 victory over Shirehampton.

Winterbourne United moved off the bottom of the table after a Dave Herbert goal clinched a 1-0 success against fellow strugglers Longwell Green Sports.

The win lifted Winterbourne two places, above Thornbury Town and Longwell Green on goal difference.

Wotton Rovers cruised through to the semi-finals of the League Cup thanks to a 4-0 win over Thornbury.

Two Mike Abbott strikes and goals from George Williams and Tom Stubbs booked a last-four tie at Cheltenham Saracens next Monday.

The other semi-final – Yate Town at home to Forest Green Rovers – will be played two days later.
