Mangotsfield United still hopeful of a large FA Cup crowd
Mangotsfield United are still hoping to attract a bumper crowd to Cossham Street on Saturday help their bid to qualify for the FA Cup first round proper – despite failing to get their tie with Forest Green Rovers moved to Sunday.
Mangotsfield were hoping to get the tie – scheduled to take place on Saturday (3pm) – moved back 24 hours because it clashes with Bristol Rovers' home game with Yeovil Town, but request was turned down.
Mangotsfield chairman Mike Richardson, however, is still hoping to get around 1,000 through the gate.
Richardson said: "I have had a lot of very disappointed people call me up saying they would have loved to have come along to the game if it did not clash with the Rovers match.
"It certainly would have helped us put a few more on that gate, so we are disappointed but we cannot let it affect us ahead of what will be a massive game for us. It will be a fantastic day for our young players."
