Mangotsfield United were second best to last season's Hellenic League Premier Division winners.

United went a goal down in the opening minute when a well worked free-kick routine left them flat footed for Hungerford to score.

It then needed a goal-line clearance from skipper Scott Hendy to prevent Hungerford increasing their lead after 22 minutes.

Minutes later, Hungerford's James Lewis saw his shot hit the upright and the rebound was blasted over the bar from close range.

Hungerford clinched victory in the 78th minute when a deep cross from the right by substitute Bradley Clark was volleyed home at the far post by Tom Melledew.

Mangotsfield goalkeeper Tony Court then denied Neville Roach a third goal in the closing minutes.
