Man suffers broken jaw in early morning attack

POLICE are appealing for information after a man suffered a broken jaw in a fracas outside a Clevedon nightclub.The incident happened outside Vibe nightclub at Davis Lane at about 3am on January 27 when the victim and a friend were involved in an altercation with a  group of men.

The group of three men were stood in the car park by a car – a silver coloured hatchback  - when the victim and his friend asked for a lift.

The discussion developed into an argument  and the victim was assaulted by one of the suspects, sustaining facial injuries.He then fell to the floor and was kicked by the other two men.

The man who assaulted the victim is described as of mixed heritage, 5ft 9ins-5ft 11ins tall, of slim to medium build and in his early 20s.

He had short dark hair and was almost bald and was wearing a dark coloured top with white writing or a logo on the front.

The two other suspects were described as white and in their early 20s.

One was of medium build and height with short blond spiky hair and he was wearing jeans.

The other man was of slim build, about 5ft 10ins with black hair and was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

The victim went to Weston General Hospital the following day and was sent to the Bristol Royal Infirmary for treatment for a broken jaw.

He also had bruising to his body and legs but was allowed home the following day.

A police spokesman said: "We believe there were a number of people leaving the club at the time of the incident who may have valuable information to assist our enquiries."
