Man's jaw broken after assault outside kebab shop

Police are investigating an assault which left a man with a broken jaw in a late-night incident in Weston-super-Mare.

The assault took place outside Sultans Kebab House in Alexandra Parade at around 12.30am on Sunday, September 23.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was punched in the face and possibly kicked or stamped on. He has broken his jaw and required surgery in hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of assault.
