​A man is seriously ill in hospital today after being attacked in the Harbourside area of Bristol.

The man, who is in his 50s, suffered serious head injuries in the incident in Anchor Road.

He was attacked near the new Blue Reef Aquarium at about 10.45pm on Saturday.

Police investigating the incident closed one lane of Anchor Road until Sunday morning to allow officers time to carry out investigations and collect any evidence.
