A man suffered a broken leg after he was struck by a van in the Jessop Underpass at Ashton Gate.

The pedestrian, believed to have been in his 30s or 40s was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary following the incident where Clift House Road meets Brunel Way just before 9pm on Saturday.

Great Western Ambulance Service sent a paramedic in a rapid-response vehicle to the scene, followed by an ambulance. They treated the patient for an open shin bone and calf bone injury before taking him to hospital.
