Man in serious condition after being hit by rush hour car

A PEDESTRIAN suffered a serious head injury in an accident on Hengrove Way.

The collision happened at about 6.20am last Thursday as the morning rush hour was beginning. A silver Peugeot was travelling along Hengrove Way from the Hartcliffe roundabout towards Knowle when it hit a man near traffic lights for the leisure park.

He was taken to Frenchay Hospital with a head injury and was in a serious but stable condition.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
