Man arrested over serious sex attack
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with a serious sexual assault in Yeovil.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was walking along Park Road from the town centre at about 2am on Friday, December 19.
She had just walked over a footbridge when she was approached by a man who forced her into his car and then took her to a different location where he subjected her to a serious sexual assault.
The attacker was described as white, 5ft 9in, of average build, with blond hair.
He was wearing a fluorescent yellow jacket, had a distinctive tribal design tattoo on the top of his right arm and was driving a dark coloured car.
The attacker then drove the victim to a flat and subjected her to a sexual assault.
Afterwards he drove his victim to Westfield Road in a transit van where he abandoned her.
The vehicle he was driving at the time is described as a transit van with a sliding door with some caging in the back for storage.
