Man appears before magistrates on murder charge
A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed to death at a care home in Bristol.
Marc Carter, 46, faced Bristol magistrates yesterday accused of killing 32-year-old Gino Nelmes at a house on Filton Avenue, near the Memorial Stadium.
Mr Nelmes was taken to hospital following an assault at about 5pm on Saturday, but was pronounced dead later that evening.
The former Ridings High School pupil bled to death after he was allegedly stabbed a number of times at a house managed by Keystones Mental Health Support Services, which offers care and support to adults with mental health needs.

Shaven-headed Carter, of Filton Avenue, Horfield, Bristol, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
Wearing a navy T-shirt, Carter leaned forward in the dock to listen as David Thomas, chair of the bench, remanded him into custody to appear before Bristol Crown Court on Thursday. No details of the alleged offence were outlined in court and no bail application was made on Carter's behalf.
Yesterday the family of Gino Nelmes issued a short family statement. "Gino was a loving son, brother, uncle and father, who'll be sadly missed by all his family," they said.
The family have requested they are left alone to grieve in privacy.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Nelmes had died as a result of blood loss, caused by multiple stab wounds that he had suffered.
Officers said the incident was "isolated and self contained", but police have been providing high-profile patrols in the area to reassure members of the local community and to enable them to pass on information to officers.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact the police by telephoning 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
