Malin seals comfortable Open win

Dean Malin cruised to a comfortable 85-12-0 victory in the Avon Angling Midweek Open fished on Specimen and Match Lakes at Landsend Fisheries near Wedmore.

'The Dean' poled 4mm soft pellet to within a metre of the island point off Specimen 31 to tempt 14 carp weighing in the 4 to 8lb size range.

Jamie Dyte beat Craig Edmonds to second place by 9oz. Dyte poled soft pellet to the bottom of the island shelf at 14 metres off Match 19 for 44-8-0 of carp to 6lb while Edmonds fished the same sized bait between 14.5 and 16 metres off Specimen 33 for a similar catch weighing 43-15-0.

The heaviest silverfish catch was taken by Tony Rixon who poled caster down the edge of Specimen 36 for 25-4-0 of perch and roach.
