Makeover for Christmas steps
BRISTOL'S Christmas Steps are set for a festive makeover as a Christmas market sets up shop.
The historic steps will play host to a handful of independent artisan traders as they host the fourth annual Christmas Artisan Market.
The market will take place on Saturday, December 1, from 11am to 4pm.
Organisers are urging shoppers to take a trip down the aptly named steps and experience "the wonderful teetering charm of the artisans' stalls cascading down the steps".

The market will showcase a high standard of crafts and wares – from fresh griddle cakes, to hand-printed T-shirts, original art works and festive crafts.
It will also provide an opportunity to pick up local, handmade Christmas presents.
There will be stacks of festive cheer with the famous Steps Christmas lights, as well as carols from the human jukebox and mulled cider from the cider shop.
The Christmas fair is run by the Christmas Steps Arts Quarter.
The arts quarter includes Perry Road, Lower Park Row, Colston Street, St Michael's Hill, and the Christmas Steps themselves.
The Christmas Steps Arts Quarter was officially named on October 25, 2008, by the Lord Mayor.
There are over 130 traders and creative businesses in the area covered. This includes galleries, all types of independent shops, two theatres, and a unique array specialists shops.
