A CONSERVATIVE MP has called for the law to be changed to make it easier for small businesses to sack their staff.

Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore is a member of the Free Enterprise group of Tories, which is urging the Chancellor to follow the model of Germany, where companies with fewer than 10 employees can sack people without giving a reason. The group claims this would help to "turbo-charge the British jobs market."

Mr Skidmore said: "Obviously not everything Germany does will work here, but we should be forward-thinking in looking for ideas that can help us in the economic crisis."

“Presumably you follow A4E and sainsburys - employ an unemployed person for nothing so there is no job for a paid employee?”

What - by putting more people on the dole? Genius.

Can we make it easier to sack idiotic Tory MPs please?”
