Taunton-based Tom Magnell clinched victory in the Avon Angling Open at the Bridgwater Sedges with a 91-2-0 catch of carp to 12lb taken with a pellet waggler fished close to the island off peg 39.

Tony Rixon picked-up a second place pools payout at neighbouring peg 38, where the same tactics as the winner brought a 72-12-0 response.

The top silverfish pools money went to Darren Gilman, who poled caster at 2metres off peg 24 and swung 19-14-0 of tiny skimmers, roach, perch and rudd to hand.
