“A truly outstanding Tourism and Heritage Minister working at both a local and national level and a champion of our sector.”
Mr Penrose said: “I’m proud and delighted to be given this award. If you’re the MP for Weston-super-Mare, you need to have tourism in the marrow of your bones.
“It’s a great industry that can provide exciting global careers as well as local opportunities for start-up entrepreneurs.
“It’s a wonderful sector to represent and I’ll keep using all the experience and knowledge I’ve gained over the years to make further inroads, like pushing for a reform of the Travel Package Directive.”
