A luxury yacht, complete with 40-seat cinema and on-deck whirlpool bath, moored in Bristol this weekend ready for cruises around the South West.

The recently refurbished 189ft-long Harmony II is docked next to the new HBOS building on the Harbourside.

It can accommodate 12 guests when cruising the Bristol Channel and West Coast.

It will also be able to cater for up to 150 people for corporate and private functions while docked.

The vessel can be chartered for any trip around the Bristol Channel and West Coast for as little as £200 per person per day.

The yacht is owned by brothers Alan and Martin Pedley from Essex, who bought her in Liverpool in 2001.

Cruise specialist Global Cruising, based in Portishead, will manage the yacht.

Master mariner Martin Greenslade, managing director of Global Cruising, said: "This is a major boost for Bristol's city docks and for the ship itself, which is perfectly suited to the channel.

"For the first time in history, Bristol will have its own commercial mega yacht, equipped to the highest possible standards, offering country-style luxury. Bristol is ideally placed to serve Harmony II well for its new cruising grounds. The summer programme will see Harmony II available for private and corporate charters of between three and seven nights visiting West Coast and Irish ports."

He added: "We expect to attract tourists to Bristol this summer and we will be taking them through the Avon Gorge, under the Clifton Suspension Bridge and out into the Channel to explore the West Coast."

Last year, Harmony II was moored alongside HMS Belfast by Tower Bridge in London for her official launch party. She spent some time in Cannes before returning to London, where she was moored at Canary Wharf before sailing to Bristol.

“Just returned from our sons wedding which featured a reception and two night stay on board. Magnificent vessel and splendid service. The cuisine was incredible and the suites were fit for royalty. nothing was too much trouble by the crew and I can't recommend it enough.”
