Redwood Lodge Hotel was eventually bought out of administration by the London-based Brook Hotel chain – which has now decided to sell the it.

Callbridge Hotels, a company led by former managers of Redwood Lodge, was set up in December 2009 after Folio – the company which previously owned Redwood Lodge – went into administration.

But the company managed to keep the business afloat for just over 12 months.

Callbridge eventually went into administration after it failed to keep up the payments on its various property leases.

The freehold Redwood Hotel and Country Club is being marketed by property agent Knight Frank's hotels team.

The purpose-built four-star country house hotel comes complete with 112 en suite bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, extensive conference facilities, cinema and leisure club. The site is a total 15 acres and also includes 1,000 car parking spaces.

The Summerhouse restaurant has space to cater for around 140 diners and a separate function room for a further 60 customers.

The hotel also has another 11 conference rooms which can accommodate up to 250 people.

The next door Redwood Country Club includes a gym, two indoor sports halls, five badminton courts, five outdoor tennis courts, seven squash courts, two dance studios, an indoor swimming pool with sauna and steam room, two outdoor swimming pools and changing rooms.

There is seating for around 200 people in the sports bar and restaurant, with a hair and beauty salon located off it, leading to an outdoor paved area, children's play area and gardens,

Henry Jackson, from Knight Frank, said: "The hotel is situated five miles from Bristol and three miles from Clifton."

“I wonder if a buyer has been found as this hotel has now been removed from the Brook hotels website?”
