The Lord Lieutenant of Bristol has been awarded an honorary MBA degree from the University of the West of England.

It is in recognition of Mary Prior's outstanding contribution to public service and her advisory support to the Bristol Business School.

Since Mrs Prior became Lord Lieutenant she has become patron or president of more than 30 charities and organisations.

Mary Prior was president of the Dolphin Society in 2007, and is a member of the Society of Merchant Venturers. She is married to John and has two children and four grandchildren.
