Longwell Green girls enjoy Kwik Cricket finals day at Headingley

Longwell Green Primary took part in the Asda Kwik Cricket Girls National Finals at Yorkshire's Headingley ground in Leeds last week.

The event was supported by two of the England Women's team, Katherine Brunt and Sarah Taylor, who are fresh from retaining the Women's Ashes.

The 15 schools which took part had all won their respective regions to qualify for th finals.

Longwell Green, the South West champions, won one of their three games in Group D.

Longwell Green's lost to Holt Farm, the eventual group winners, in their first game. Green scored 233-6 in reply to Farm's 248-5.

Green made 250-3 against Normamby, who totalled 251-8.

They then scored 233-6 against Overingham, who replied with 220-6.
