Long Ashton's other Open representative
Chris Wood is not the only Long Ashton Golf Club member taking part in The Open starting at Turnberry tomorrow.
Another 21-year-old, assistant greenkeeper Allan Smith, arrives at the Ayrshire course tonight to be briefed on bunker-raking duties.

Each year 50 volunteer members of the British Institute of Golf Greenkeepers' Association (BIGGA) are selected work at The Open.
They are chosen from hundreds of applicants and Smith, from Bradley Stoke, is Bristol's sole representative.
He said: "I attended the BIGGA Show at Harrogate in January with my boss James Braithwaite, who suggested that I put my name forward for Open duties.
"I heard I had been chosen in February. It's going to be a wonderful experience for me as I have never been to an Open. Who knows, I may be following a match in which Chris is playing."
A bunker-raker is allocated to accompany each group and smooth the sand – a task normally performed in European Tour events by a player's caddie.
Smith has been at Long Ashton for five years and passed level 2 of his NVQ 18 months ago. He plays off a handicap of 15 and added: "I hope watching all the great players at Turnberry this week will help me improve my game."
