Youngsters at a Long Ashton nursery spent the day dressing up as who they want to be when they grow up to raise money for charity.

Children at the Early Birds Neighbourhood Nursery, based at Birdwell Primary School, held the event for Children in Need.

The event was one of a series of fund raisers being held at the nursery through the week.

Youngsters will take part in a bad hair day event and go to the nursery dressed in their pyjamas.

The nursery, which opened in 2004, has 60 youngsters on its books and opens five days a week. Staff will also be dressing up throughout the week and joining the fun.

Nursery manager Rachel White said: "We have different children at the nursery on different days and by running events through the week, it will give everyone the chance to get involved and raise money for Children in Need.

"Last year we raised around £200 and we want to increase that amount this year."
