Local motocross stars Lewis Gregory, Tom Church and Stephen Sword are taking part in the Annual International Meeting at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire.

And Bristol's British Sidecar Trial champions Jon Tuck and Matt Sparks are competing in the second round of the new series near Newquay in Cornwall, where they will be trying to claw their way back in contention after finishing fourth in the first round at Knock Froy in the Isle of Man.

Tuck and Sparks face a rejuvenated Robin Luscombe, who is now partnered by his son Sam, and the Yorkshire "team" will be out to better their second place finish on the IoM.

Twenty four crews face a total of 40 sections in a single lap of 18 miles after setting out from the Braefel Inn at Rejjarah. Hopes of a local win in the intermediate class rest with Plymouth speedway skipper Seemond Stephens and Gary Davey.

Tuck's elder brothers are also competing - David with Phil Sparks and Roger, with Steve Chandler.

The Wilts Border Club's Salutation Cup Trial takes place at Stanton St Quinton, near Chippenham and upwards of 70 are expected to contest.

Weekend fixtures – tomorrow: West of England MCC Summer Series Trial, Hetor, Ipplepen, near Newton Abbot (1.30pm).

Sunday: Bridport MCC West Dorset Cup Trial, North Poorton Farm, Maiden Newton, Dorset (11am); Camborne-Redruth MCC British Sidecar Championship Trial, Braefel House PH, Rejjerah, nr Newquay (9.30am); Moretonhampstead MCC Trial, Neadon Farm, North Bovey (11am); Wilts Border MCC Trial, The Piggeries, Stanton St Quinton, nr Chippenham (10.30am);Somerton Classic MCC Trial, Lime Kiln Quarry, Long Sutton, nr Langport (11am).
