Racing for Horfield Primary School in the Bristol Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at Ashton Park School, Westbury Harriers U11 star Ellie Leather put in an excellent performance to finish first despite taking the wrong course and running the boys' course, which was 200m longer than the girls'.
Bristol runners Phil and Anita Westlake will tackle the Auckland half marathon next week, the final leg on their challenge of racing a half marathon on all five continents.
The husband and wife team, who compete for Bitton Road Runners, clocked 2:04.52 in the Beijing half marathon last weekend having already completed races in Marrakech, Morocco (January), Paris (March) and Vancouver (May).

Portishead Running Club's Steven James finished 69th in the Abingdon marathon in 2hrs 58mins 47secs. Julian Lewis, of Hogweed Trotters, was also made the top 100 in 96th (3:03.33) while Westbury Harriers' Timothy Synge was 139th (3:16.23).
Former Bristol AC runner and Northern Irish international Deon McNeilly finished 291st in the Amsterdam marathon in a time of 2:56.20.
The Weston Christmas Cracker 10km on Sunday, December 13, has reached the limit of 1,800 runners and no further entries will be taken.

Westbury's Emma D'Alton finished 15th overall and top woman in the Salisbury half marathon in 1.24.11. David Shattock, of Southville Running Club, was 118th (1:42.05) and GWR's Gary Toofany was 145th in 1:44.04. There were 429 finishers.
Westbury Harriers' Andrew Gibbons and Emma Powell came 229th (1:59.15) and 231st (1:59.29) respectively in the Dartmoor Vale half marathon.
A party from Great Western Runners were at the Amsterdam marathon last weekend. There were personal bests for Will Hillier (3:06:47), Jo Ross (3:28:23) and Pete Tanner (4:24:06). Andy Smith clocked 3:15:51 and Matt Widdup 3:28:23.
The Bristol Daffodil 10k planned for Blaise Castle in 2010 to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care has been cancelled.
