Liz strikes twice in Clifton win
CLIFTON Ladies made a promising start to the season with a 3-1 victory at Slough in the Investec Women's Premier Division.
Joanna Leigh gave Clifton a 22nd-minute lead and it remained 1-0 at the interval.
Liz Sinton increased the lead, before the home side pulled a goal back. However, Sinton's second goal secured the three points.
Clifton host Olton/West Warwicks at Coombe Dingle on Saturday (1pm).

In National Conference West, Firebrands Ladies lost 6-3 at home to Buckingham.
Firebrands trailed 2-1 at half-time following a goal from captain Georgie Field.
In the second half, Field and debutante Corinne Bury scored further goals for Firebrands, who visit Trojans this Saturday.
Firebrands Men's side went down 4-2 at Cardiff/UWIC in their first match back in National Conference West. Matt Blakemore and Ollie Pomphrey were the Firebrands scorers.
Firebrands entertain Exeter University at Longwood Lane on Sunday (2pm) on the newly-laid Astro pitch.
Rollo Lewis has rejoined Firebrands, who also include England Under-18s goalkeeper Sam Cathie (Stroud), Andy Krebs (Westbury/Utd Banks) and Michael Caplan (UWE) among their new squad members.
In a friendly, Westbury/Utd Banks drew 2/2 with Team Bath Buccs A. Joe Thomas and Neil Richardson scored for Westbury.
