Rob Kearney: Limped off nursing a leg injury in the second half which prematurely ended a solid performance. 7.

Tommy Bowe: Another magnificent display by the Ireland Grand Slam winner, who claimed his fourth try in three games. 9

Keith Earls: Worked hard but was unable to make headway against a well-organised Western Province defence. 6

Riki Flutey: Featured prominently in the build up to Bowe's try, but drifted in and out of the game. 6

Ugo Monye: A real workaholic who took his try well and now looks set for Test match recognition. 8

Stephen Jones: Took the game to Western Province, attacking the gain-line, and also kicked solidly. 7

Harry Ellis: Sniped away at the heels of his forwards. Never relented in terms of his work-rate. 7

Andrew Sheridan: Failed to make a big enough impact. Looks likely to miss out behind Gethin Jenkins for the first Test. 6

Matthew Rees: Delivered one wayward lineout throw, but a solid contributor in the loose. Looks set for a Test bench place. 6

Phil Vickery: Captained the Lions for the first time, seeing his team secure the victory they just about deserved. 6

Donncha O'Callaghan: Did not do enough to threaten a Test place in the highly competitive second row area. 6

Nathan Hines: Went off midway through the second half, but did enough to leave his name in the Test mix. 7

Joe Worsley: A hard-working, if unspectacular effort, by the England flanker. The bench beckons next weekend. 6

Martyn Williams: Scored a try and was tireless in the loose, keeping the Test team pressure on Ireland's David Wallace. 7

Andy Powell: Had his best game of the tour. Never took a backward step and was damaging going forward. 8

Replacements:

Ross Ford: Replaced Rees after 57 minutes. 6

Euan Murray: Took over from Vickery midway through the second period. 6

Simon Shaw: Gained a run as replacement for Hines. 6

James Hook: Landed a match-winning penalty after going on for the injured Kearney. 7

Tom Croft: Tightened up the Lions' lineout after replacing Worsley. 6
