Library hosts a day of fun to honour the Queen's 60-year reign
A SPECIAL children's rhyme-time singalong kicked off a day of fun at Wick Road Library in Brislington to celebrate the diamond jubilee.
Youngsters also participated in a bunting competition that had to be brought indoors due to yesterday's showers.
But with the sun shining intermittently party-goers were able to enjoy craft stalls and outdoor demonstrations, as well as some delicious homemade cakes and refreshments.
Library supervisor Barbara Lillington said that around 500 people attended the celebration.

"We held a similar event last year to celebrate the royal wedding and more than 400 people turned up then, so this year's celebration was an even bigger event for the community.
"We are really pleased with how it went, especially considering how changeable the weather was.
"Lots of families and older people took part in the activities but we had a very wide range of people attending.
"We don't have our own community centre here so people treat the library like a community hub – it was great to see everyone together."
