Let's all read from the same page
So Robert Craig thinks those of use who see no needs to implement spellings variations are snobs then does he?
Does he know the definition of the term? It makes those of us who do not advocate them, no more than snobs, than it does those like himself who wish to promote them as the definition of a snob is someone who thinks they are superior.
Therefore he obviously thinks that by abiding by the changes he wishes to make by incorporating/changing our spellings would make this a far superior country in which to live and he of course superior for doing so.
Leaving things as they are is neither snobbish nor illogical. Just commonsense, since at least we'd all be reading from the same page and it prevents the arguments he is promoting of who/what is right/wrong.
But expecting us to be flexible is the kind of attitude that has got this country into all its current messes. We have become too flexible towards everybody, seemingly wanting changes made to reflect what they see as their entitlements.
We have become too PC and in doing so, we have lost most, if not all, of any morals, standards, values and principles that this country ever had.
If only we spent less time in implementing unnecessary 'modernisms', we could get back to spending more time on the reintroductions of the morals, standards, values and principles that once made this nation of ours Great Britain instead of just Britain.
Because currently there is nothing great about it. It's just an excuse of a country for people to walk all over. We only need one simple but effective set of rules, regulations and guidelines that 'everyone' adheres to and those that don't like them know what they can do.
