Let's eat all the pies to support Bristol's bid
Bristol's own award-winning pie maker, Pieminister, is cooking up interest in Bristol's 2018 host city bid by launching a limited edition World Cup pie.
It will be available exclusively for just one week from the firm's Stokes Croft branch to help promote Bristol's bid to bring the tournament to the South West for the first time.
The pie is topped with a paprika England flag and contains locally sourced free-range beef and real ale brewed by the Bristol Beer Factory, based just around the corner from the pie kitchens, making it a true Bristolian pie.
Bristolians and founders of family-run Pieminister, Tristan Hogg and Jon Simon, said: "We believe Bristol is a great city with so much to offer. Our first Pieminister shop was in our home town and it has been the launch pad to our success.
"To be a host city for the 2018 football tournament would be fantastic and we wanted to do our bit and create a pie to commemorate this moment and to urge as many Pieminister lovers out there to back Bristol's bid."
A spokesman from Bristol 2018 bid team commented: "It's great to have the support of local businesses such as Pieminister backing Bristol's bid and shows the nation what we have to offer as a city."
There is less than a week till the deadline for prospective World Cup host venues to submit their case to be part of England's bid.
The Bristol bid team will travel to Wembley on November 26, subject to securing final council approval for the bid two days earlier.
The city is one of 16 hoping to be selected on December 16, when the England 2018 bid team will make its decision on what venues it believes will impress FIFA.

“Well this is a good way to obtain free advertising!!!
Lets cotton on to a hot topic and use it to our advantage.
I wonder how much it would cost for an advert in relation to this con!”
