Let the Wessex network grow
IT IS good to hear that mayor George Ferguson is so committed to improving our city. Transport and congestion is a key area on which to concentrate.
Naturally more people would be prepared to use the buses if a reasonably priced, clean and efficient service was provided.
I would like to see an expansion of the Wessex network as they are already fulfilling these three criteria.
The Wessex Red buses are a pleasure to ride on, and day ticket prices are extremely reasonable.

Pensioners are able to travel for only £1 before 9.00am, in contrast to First who charge the full fare.
I understand that aBus also provide a friendly reliable service, so wouldn't it be a great step forward in breaking the First monopoly to allow these companies to operate more routes around Bristol. Having sorted out the buses perhaps City Hall could investigate the feasibility of the growing bands of lights which have marched across our city causing as much congestion as possible.
Why oh why is it necessary to install traffic lights on a roundabout?
A classic example is junction 2 of the M32.
This roundabout has been in situ for many years and worked perfectly well until some bright spark decided that it would be a wonderful idea to construct a major shopping park in the middle of a suburb.
As soon as the ghastly blue aircraft hangar selling Swedish merchandise was built, the council at the time couldn't wait to put up the traffic lights which ensures that Muller Road grinds to a halt every weekend.
Please Mr Mayor, bring a touch of sanity back to our roads and dispose of unnecessary street furniture.
Give us drivers some credit for knowing how to navigate a roundabout without having to obey the red, amber and green.
