Post columnist Leroy Rosenior reckons Sean O’Driscoll can keep Bristol City in the npower Championship by being “boring” on the training ground.

Now a football pundit for the BBC, former Robins striker and coach Rosenior is convinced head coach O’Driscoll is the right man to lead the club to safety this season.

Leroy Rosenior reckons Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll revels in being "boring".

And he believes the former Nottingham Forest and Doncaster Rovers boss is right to adhere strictly to his long-term strategies.

Rosenior told The Post: “Sean does not mind being boring – in fact, he enjoys it.

“By that, I mean he has his own tried and trusted methods and he will stick with them no matter what.

“His attention to detail is second to none and, if he thinks the players need to work on something, then he will do that until it has sunk in.

“There are times when players get bored and just want to have a five-a-side, but that won’t happen with Sean.

“A lot of managers don’t have a strategy these days and they don’t pay enough attention to the opposition. Sean is not one of them.

“He pays attention to the little things and he drills the do’s and don’ts into players on the training ground knowing that all those little things add up and make a difference.”

“Compared with the team that DM produced, i would take the team produced by SOD any day and i think wether we stay up or not he will give us a team to be proud of, he has more football knowledge than DM will ever have and spout a load of guff just to please the post reporters.give him a break and get behind the team.”

“basically citys defense is a joke, and until they can defend properly we wont attack because we cant do both at the same time, thats what odriscoll is saying.
so its ten nil nil draws if lucky for the rest of the season
    devision one here we come.”

“I like the football SOD is getting the team to play. It makes me feel good. It is progress.
Anyway, when it comes to boring, Leroy Rosenior takes a lot of beating!
Perhaps I'm the only supporter/commentator/blogger who is more boring than him!
But at least I am a Bristol City fan unlike Mr Rosenior.”

“After the season we are presently experiencing, I would seriously take "boring" football until May if it means we remain in the Championship. Open, cavalier football can wait for another day!

If the recipe for staying in this league is 'steady-eddy' football, who in BS3 will dispute that approach?”

    “@ashtongas:

They think a lot more of him that the blue few think of Magoo,Buckle, Penny, Trollope, Ferguson (OK I made the last one up)How many managers are you paying at the moment?

Another good crowd last night mate.Keep going and you'll be up to 6,500 home fans soon!!

New stadium? Just build a couple of stands, that'll be more than enough.”
