Leigh's clinical finish not enough to secure the points for Clifton
THE Investec Women's Premier match between Clifton Ladies and visitors Bowden Hightown was a closely fought encounter with the game ending 1-1.
Both sides had early opportunities which fizzled out, though Caitlin Jefferies in the Clifton goal was prominent with a couple of saves.
The deadlock was broken in the 23rd minute, when Jo Leigh clinically finished an Els Mansell cross, a lead Clifton managed to hold on to until half-time.
The visitors were more prominent in the second period, mainly during the time when Clifton were reduced to ten players following temporary suspensions.
