A TEAM of runners from a Bristol law firm pounded the treadmill for 12 hours to raise money for charity.

The runners, all who work at Clarke Willmott LLP, took it in turns to go on the treadmill at Cabot Circus between 8am and 8pm on Saturday.

Each took one, two or even three running slots of between 30 minutes and two hours to raise money for the Bristol-based Jessie May Trust and for the A-T Society, which supports families affected by the life-limiting genetic condition Ataxia-Telangiectasia.

Two of the team, Graham McIntyre and Phillip Allen are also in training for the London Marathon, also to raise money for the two charities.

Graham, 39, who is the firm's managing director for property, said: "The day went really well and everyone has been very generous which was fantastic. We sponsor the Bristol 10k Business Challenge, which pits teams of runners from local businesses against each other in the annual RunBristol 10k, but this 'runathon' at Cabot Circus was a different sort of challenge. We all wanted to put in a good performance and support the amazing work of our charities, which both do great work with children and young people."
