Laurel and Hardy in another fine mess at Curzon cinema
FREE screenings of classic Laurel and Hardy movies are to be held at Clevedon's Curzon Cinema. The short films will be shown as part of an open weekend at the picture house on March 16 and 17.
The Curzon's collection of heritage cinema technology will be open and some vintage projectors will be in operation. The highlight is a pair of short films starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, pictured.

The silent Do Detectives Think dates from 1927, and sees the duo hired to protect a judge from an escaped convict out for revenge. In the 1931 sound film Beau Chumps, Oliver is jilted by his girlfriend and joins the Foreign Legion to forget, taking Stanley with him.
The programme also includes a British Movietone Newsreel from 1943, and a clip of the Count Basie Orchestra.
