Latest pupils join new Bristol school
The final piece of the jigsaw is in place for Hartcliffe's £36 million Bridge Learning Campus, with the arrival of pupils from New Fosseway Special School.
Seventy pupils with special needs, aged from six to 19, are now based at the brand new complex in Teyfant Road, along with nursery, primary, secondary, college and adult learners.
The New Fosseway pupils have moved from their former sites at the junior school in Knowle and the upper school in Hengrove.
Headteacher Judy Baker said: "It is fantastic to all be together again.
"Staff morale is really high and the children have settled really well."
The move means the New Fosseway pupils can have access to all the facilities of the campus.
The Bridge can provide for more than 1,600 learners.
It has 45 nursery places, 420 primary places, 845 secondary places and 80 special school places, as well as a student support unit and a vocational training centre.
The Bridge Learning Campus is the country's first all-through school to be run by a trust, comprising the University of the West of England, City of Bristol College and Bristol City Council.
It will be officially opened next month by the Princess Royal.
