Larkhall stay top of the Toolstation League despite defeat
Larkhall Athletic held on to top spot in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on goal difference from Ilfracombe Town, despite going down 2-1 at home to Bitton.
Striker James Clarke gave Bitton a 20th-minute lead after good play by player-coach Michael Meaker.
Larkhall equalised two minutes before half-time when Mark Wall's corner created the opening for Jamie Lyons to score. Bitton then had Jack Welling sent off, but they got the winner when substitute William De Wett was at the back post to score from a Ben Pope cross.
Hallen, who slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Bishop Sutton in midweek, showed they were back to their best with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Brislington.
The only goal came on the hour mark, when a corner was cleared to Ben Willshire, who crashed home a superb drive from 25 yards out.
Humphries stopped George Brimson making it 2-0 and Steve Scannell made a fine save at the other end.
Bristol Manor Farm's failure to take the chances they created proved costly as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Longwell Green Sports, who stretched their unbeaten run to six games.
Green struck in the opening minute, when a speculative overhead kick from Dave Parnell looped over the head of goalkeeper Lee Ballard to end up in the net.
Kye Thomas and Luke Clark created the opening for Carl Rutter to equalise with a well-struck drive after 25 minutes, before a slip by defender Ben Murray gave Parnell the chance to score a 70th-minute winner for Longwell Green.
Welton Rovers went a goal down at Calne Town when Liam Brown scored after 11 minutes, but Danny Mays equalised in the 22nd minute and then struck again in the 72nd minute to give Welton victory.
In the First Division, Oldland Abbotonians were 3-0 winners at Almondsbury UWE.
Oldland took the lead two minutes after the restart through Simon Drew, who quickly made it 2-0, with Mark Pocock adding a third.
In the Les Phillips Cup, Premier Division Bishop Sutton won 1-0 at Division One Cadbury Heath, thanks to Rob Smart's goal.
Keynsham Town went through with a 1-0 victory at Bradford Town, while Roman Glass St George went down 2-0 at Chard Town.
