Kylee Dibble was afraid of ex, court told
Teenager Kylee Dibble was worried about an ex-boyfriend having keys to her flat, a court heard.
Bristol Crown Court was told Kylee, 18, mentioned her former partner "T" to several people and told one he had assaulted her, fracturing her jaw.
Kylee spent a weekend in February 2005 partying with friends before she was battered to death and her body burned in her flat at Corbett House, Barton Hill, Bristol, early on the Monday morning.
Nicky Robinson, 24, who was living with his cousin at the flats, denies murder.
The jury has been told Kylee was into the Bristol dance and music scene, loved to socialise and occasionally took recreational drugs. Tyson Davies described her as a happy and bubbly girl who was "always up for a laugh".
He told the court, on the Friday before Kylee was found dead, he had bumped into her where she worked, at the Club UK nightclub in Stokes Croft, Bristol.
Mr Davies said he was aware Kylee had worries about an ex-boyfriend, known as "T". He said she had tried to get his (Davies') phone number because she was concerned about some keys which T had.
Nazir Hussain told the court in early 2005 he was manager of Club UK and he had employed Kylee.
"In January, she had attended with a black eye and I became aware she had a dispute with her ex-boyfriend. She was concerned he still had a set of keys to her flat.
"She then told me she got her keys back and I assumed they were from her ex."
Mr Hussain said he had talked to Kylee about her black eye and she said that it happened when her ex- boyfriend went to her flat and "all hell broke out".
It is claimed Robinson visited Kylee early on the Monday morning and, possibly after they had sex, they clashed over his need to fund a fix for his crack cocaine habit, and he attacked her.
Police found a smashed piggy bank by her charred remains. It is alleged after killing her, Robinson got himself a fix.
The case continues at Bristol Crown Court.
