He said: "I've been a managed pop singer for the last 18 months, singing is all I've ever wanted to do since I was a little boy. It is so hard to get into the music industry, especially when you don't live in London.
"My friends and family have been so supportive and it's really exciting to think that with just one performance my life could change forever."
He added: "I promised myself that I would never change, that's why I haven't moved to London, I want to show the world what a Bristol boy can do."
Antony caught the attention of Mr Cowell's label when he uploaded a lyric video for his song Fame And TV featuring a line about the Britain's Got Talent and X Factor USA judge.
The musician and songwriter has already toured the UK, building his fan base and promoting his electro-pop music.
He has clocked up performances to over two million people and has shared the stage with artists The Saturday's, Ed Sheeran and McFly.
Antony is hoping to appear as a headline act at one of Bristol's summer festivals later this year as part of his national tour.
