Kingswood man stole more than £5,000 from sister
A “mean” brother, who stole more than £5,000 from his sister when he used her credit card to withdraw cash, is facing jail after admitting a string of fraud offences.
Marcus Edwards helped himself to sums of up to £200 at a time when he used his sister’s credit card.

The 20-year-old, of Downend Road, Kingswood, appeared in the dock at Bristol Crown Court on Friday and admitted eight charges of fraud, amounting to £1,340.
He asked for another 28 similar offences to be taken into consideration, bringing the total sum of his deception to £5,240.
Tabitha Macfarlane, defending, told the court Edwards was a young man of previous good character.
She said: “This is a sensitive matter that involves defrauding his sister.”
Adjourning sentencing to December 11, Recorder Mr Andrew Maitland said: “You have pleaded guilty to a total of 36 offences of fraud, using your sister’s credit card and drawing out cash in excess of £5,000.
“That’s a singularly mean offence on your sister who trusted you and at the moment nothing has been repaid.
“I adjourn sentence for a full report. All options will be open to the sentencing judge when you come back. The starting point will be prison as far as you are concerned.
“The court will be interested in what you have done about your drug addiction, repairing your relationship with your family and the money you have stolen from your sister.
“You will be released on unconditional bail except to cooperate with the preparation of that report.”

“When will the young ever learn that drugs are NOT cool? How can anyone stoop so low as to steal from his own sister to feed his habit? I smoke, drink a few wines per day but would never dream of stealing from my family. Iwould sooner do without.”
