Kingswood man dies on his 25th birthday after road accident
A man died yesterday on his 25th birthday after a road accident in Kingswood.
Police named him as Darren Thomas who lived locally.
He was walking outside Kingswood fire station in Tenniscourt Road when he was in collision with a Honda Civic at about 9.15pm on Friday night.
Firefighters who were trained in helping critically-injured victims treated Mr Thomas at the scene until an ambulance arrived and rushed him to Frenchay Hospital.

A police spokesman said he died yesterday.
Police closed the road for five hours while the force's collision investigation unit examined the scene.
The police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the accident.
They should phone the police number, 101.

“Kay10 - Yes, it is more important that a young man lost his life than focusing on an error in a news report. However, if myself or someone else had not pointed out the error, every few seconds the BREAKING NEWS ticker at the top of the main news page would still be informing readers that it would have been his 24th birthday today. The very least that this site should do is get the poor bloke's birthday right.”
