Avon Youth League Under-12s round-up:

Kieran Lovell hit a hat-trick as Henbury Colts Under-12s maintained their winning start in Division IV with a 6-3 win over Ashton Boys C.

Ashton took the lead in the first half through the first of three Ashley Hayward goals. But Henbury quickly fought back through a Liam Walter effort before continued pressure saw them surge into a healthy 4-1 interval lead through two Joe Steedman strikes and Lovell's first.

Ashton battled back after the break and managed to pull the contest back to 4-3 with two more Hayward goals.

Their opponents continued to pile on the pressure, however, and another two Lovell goals, to bring up his hat-trick, capped a solid team performance in which Will Webster excelled.

Brandon Tyler struck twice as Bristol Rovers JSC and Bishport fought out a 2-2 draw in an entertaining Division IV encounter.

Rovers found themselves a goal up, then 2-1 down courtesy of efforts from Bishport's Ty Goodall and Ayman Ahmed before Tyler pounced for his second goal to level it up.

Oldland Abbotonians maintained their impressive start to the Division III season by beating Bristol Olympic 8-2.

First-half goals by Charlie Millard (2), Ashley Grice, James Denyer and Will Tanner saw Oldland into a commanding lead. In the second half, Harry Winnett's pass was flicked on by Jack Haberfield, finding Grice in space to stroke the ball past the keeper from 10 yards.

Millard's corner then picked out Tom Corbidge, who drilled home from eight yards for his first goal of the season.

Oldland saved the best for last when Harry Saunders set up midfielder Matthew Leat to cap his man-of-the-match performance with a spectacular goal from 25 yards.

Division I pacesetters Bristol City JSC had to work hard for a 3-1 victory over a determined Warmley Rangers A team, who had only 10 players.

Goals from George Kellow (2) Callum Townsend, who also shaved the post, sealed a tense tussle.

Josh Roberts produced another solid display at the back for the winners, while Warmley keeper Joe Marcovitch ensured the margin of victory was not greater with some good stops. Jordan Scadding also played his part with a pinpoint cross leading to Kellow netting City's second goal. Callum Carter scored Warmley's goal.

AEK Boco claimed an impressive 5-0 Division I home win over a strong and well-organised Avon Athletic side.

They went ahead on 15 minutes when William Brant made a determined run down the left and picked out Tommy Winston, who made no mistake with a half-volley.

Home centre-back Keaton Lacey and goalkeeper Jack Madge held firm as Avon tried to respond and the home team led 1-0 at the break.

Boco carved out a number of chances at the start of the second period before doubling their advantage when Bradley Wheadon's skill set up striker Jack Robson to score.

Wheadon, Josh Kellet-Butt and Jack Green added further goals as Boco ran out convincing winners.

Avon did not give in but found the Boco defence, including Tom Norley, Luck Withey and Keaton Lacey, standing strong.

Whitchurch Sports A recorded their first win of the Division II programme in fine style by overcoming Nicholas Wanderers 6-1.

They were made to work flat out for their 2-1 first-half advantage by a spirited Wanderers side. Jacob Sparks put them 1-0 ahead, finishing off a Chris French cross, and, following a Wanderers equaliser, Sparks netted again with a shot from the edge of the box.

Whitchurch came out firing in the second half and Robbie Dixon grabbed four goals, helped by assists from Shae Chinnock and French, to complete a splendid team performance.

In the same section, Cadbury Heath picked up three deserved points with a 1-0 win at Winterbourne United.

Tom Curnock had two chances for Winterbourne in the first half but it was Harry Hughes who sealed the points for Heath with a fine finish. Heath keeper Ben Slade was also in good form to ensure there was no way back for Winterbourne.

Shire Colts were on the receiving end of an 11-0 defeat by Broadwalk in another Division II clash but there were still some good performances on show.

The hosts gained an early lead and could have scored more had it not been for good displays by the two goalkeepers used by Shire, Gareth Hobdey and Jack Harvey.

Ethan Bowyer and Mike Bojski battled hard up front and were well supported by Mitchell Lockyer, Brandon Hone, Joe Wells and Charlie Smith, while Joe Newman was named man of the match.
